Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

Hey Guys, so this week's Manicure Monday is going to be short and sweet I just didn't want to leave you with nothing. So I got gel nails last week as you can see and I went for a nice and short nail because my nails had broken all short. I chose a white nail covered in glitter because I had my college ball and wanted to make sure my nails went with whatever dress I chose.

So that's it for this week's Manicure Monday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

So it's that time of the month guys, Glossybox time! I have to say I am still loving my Glossybox's, they never disappoint and this month almost every product was full size.

Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner

So these were the only sample sizes we got in this month's Glossybox and I actually think it's great, so handy for travelling. I only used these once so I could review them for you guys because I do want to keep them to travel with. However, I will say my hair felt SO soft after using them so I do really like it and might buy the full size when I finish my current shampoo and conditioner. You can purchase these items here:

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

The next item was Lash Princess mascara from essence. I need to say that I actually love essence mascara's because I actually think they are great quality considering the price you pay, although they're not my absolute favourite brand I think they are very high up the list. I don't think you can go wrong if you are paying that price. I haven't opened this tube because I am trying to get through mascaras and considering I do like essence mascara's I will wait to open it, the packaging is super pretty though! You can purchase the essence Lash Princess mascara here:

Naobay Moisturizing Peeling

I LOVED this next item. It's a cleansing milk that gently exfoliates. Now my skin is so sensitive as I have mentioned before so I am so greatful to have something that I can exfoliate with without stinging my skin. My skin felt so clean and still soft afterwards so I definitely recommend this. You can purchase this item here:

Carmex Moisture Plus

Another item I loved this month was the Carmex moisture plus. I think it did a great job at getting rid of my chapped lips. I also loved the hint of berry colour because it meant that once I applied this I could get away with not wearing lipstick. You can purchase this item here:

Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

For this week's Manicure Monday I went for a jade colour with a rose gold ring finger. I used Sally Hansen's "Jaded" and elf "blush." As I have said before I think Sally Hansen polish is great for not chipping and this was my first time trying an elf polish and I must say it has actually done better at not chipping than the Sally Hansen polish.

Method:

1. I began by filing my nails to prevent any hangnails.
2. I then applied a base coat to prevent the polish discolouring my nails.
3. Next I painted all of my nails excluding the two ring fingers with the "jaded" from Sally Hansen with a first coat.
4. After I painted the first coat, I applied a first coat of "blush" to the ring fingers.
5. Once the first coats were dry, I applied a second coat by repeating steps 3&4.
6. After the second coat dried, I applied a top coat to prevent chipping.

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

Hey everyone so for this week's Beauty Thursday I thought I would talk about brushes and the different types of brushes. First off I want to say that one thing I love about make up is that there is no set way to do it so if you use different brushes for different purposes than I do that is fine too I just want to show you guys how I use mine in case anyone was unsure and looking for help.

As you can see I have a few foundation brushes, I also have a Real Techniques beauty blender which I have yet to try. At the moment the ones that I own and have tried are a Body Collection one, an Infinity one, a Royal Cosmetics one and an elf stipple brush. At the moment my favourite is the elf stipple brush as I find it gives my foundation a flawless look to it and it was quite cheap. Some problems with foundation brushes is that they can sometimes make foundation appear streaky so do be aware of that when you're applying your foundation with a brush, however you do learn quickly how to fix that and I find that with my elf brush it never appears streaky. (If you would like me to do a blog post on how I make sure not to have streaky foundation using a brush let me know!)

Next up is powder brushes I currently own a Real Techniques powder brush and a w7 duo brush. The w7 duo brush has two sides (the angled side is more for contour) we are focusing on the rounder end. Powder brushes can come in big and small sizes. The two I own are medium sized and I find that to be the best size for applying your powder brush because it will allow you to dust powder only where you need to but it's not that small that it takes forever just to powder your face. I personally love my powder brushes nice and soft which is why I love my Real Techniques one. When in the shop run the bristles of the brush along the back of your hand to test how soft the bristles are but also to check it doesn't shed.

Next up the cheeks I use a small powder brush to apply brush and a Real Techniques cheek brush to apply bronzer. The angled part of the w7 Duo brush is also great for contour, the angle is great to sculpt the cheekbones. The round headed Real Techniques brush is perfect for bronzer, as it's great at distributing the product evenly.

In this picture I have a fan brush and a w7 brush that is great for cream contour. Due to the thinness of the w7 brush it is great to contour with as it is precise to line the cheekbones and then you just blend the cream contour. Next up is the fan brush which is perfect for highlighting powders, a fan brush is great as the shape feels light on your skin. It's designed to sweep highlighting powder above your cheek bones.

For concealer I use a brush from a "Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model" make up set to apply the concealer. I then use an elf pointed foundation brush to blend and set my under eye concealer, as I find the point is great to get right under the eye.

Next up I have two eyebrow and lash brushes, I did have three until recently when the top broke off of the brush. I own a Georgia brush from a Georgia Salpa eyelash set and a w7 smaller eyebrow brush from a brows set. These are pretty simple and are great help to brush your brows. I also own two angled brow brushes which are very thin in width and are great to use to fill in your brows. I recommend when it comes to a brush to fill in your brows to use an angled brush and also once as thin as you can find because these will be more precise. I also have one lash brush which is used to seperate lashes.

I will be doing another blog post about different eyeshadow brush types and explaining their uses but just so you know now, I have three round shaped eyeshadow brushes which are great for applying eyeshadow and also for blending. I have an Urban Decay, a Real Techniques brush and to be honest I have no idea what brand the red brushes are.

Now we have the lip brushes. These are pretty simple you use them to apply your lipstick.

That's it for this week's Beauty Thursday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

This week's Manicure Monday I chose this adorable pink colour. I was going out and wanted to use my new e.l.f lip stain in "birthday suit" and so I chose to paint my nails to match. I used Wet 'n' Wild's Megalast in "Candy-licious."

Method:

1. File all nails so they're even and there are no hang nails.
2. Apply a base coat to prevent staining the nail.
3. Paint on the first layer of nail varnish.
4. Once the first layer is dry, apply the second layer of polish.
5. After the second layer of polish is dry apply a top coat

You can purchase Wet 'n' Wild's Megalast "Candy-licious" here:

This week's Celebrity Style Sunday is dedicated on the queen of the red carpet, Giuliana Rancic. So I wrote this post a few week's ago and with all the comments being made I have been putting off publishing it but if you like Giuliana's style here is how you can get similar looks.

So G presented on Enews back in 2012 wearing this Kate Frances crop blazer. Asos do a similar pink blazer available here:

Miss Rancic presented on Enews in February 2015. She wore this Maje jam pleated open knit skirt in red and a Karen Millen faux leather collar top. You can get a similar skirt to G's here:
