Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my review of the October Glossybox. I must say once again Glossybox have made up for the last few months because I was over the moon with this month's box!

Nicka K Airbrush FX Blending Sponge

The first item in this month's box was the Nicka K Airbrush FX sponge. I was really excited because ever since I tried the Real Techniques one I've become obsessed with them, this was obviously a full sized product and was worth £6.50. You run the sponge under warm water then squeeze the excess off to use. I found with this sponge no matter how much I ran it under the tap it wouldn't become softer and it didn't expand like other sponges do. I also found it got filthy straight away, because it was so hard I couldn't really use it all for blending to be honest so this was the one item in the box that was sadly disappointing. If you hope to have better look with this sponge, you can purchase one here:

Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint

Next up in the box was another full size product from Jelly Pong Pong and it was worth £8.95. This you can use on your lips or as a cheek tint, now when I say it is super pigmented I mean it is UNBELIEVABLY pigmented. I would say if you were putting it on your cheeks use the quarter or a pea-size and blend, blend, blend. I absolutely loved this on my lips, it dried instantly and was just such a beautiful colour. I got many compliments when I wore it and I was so impressed that I was able to eat and drink and it didn't budge! It literally only began to fade after a few hours, this has become hands down one of my new holy grail products! You can purchase the Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint here:

Talika Photo-Hydrea Day

So this month's box was a box full of full size because we also received this moisturizer worth £24.85. I quite liked the moisturizer, it felt super hydrating and soothing and didn't react to my sensitive skin so yay for me! I personally think £24.85 is a bit much for this size of product but a little goes a long way so it will probably last a good while!

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

We got another lip based product as well this month. This full size was worth £8.99 and oh my days I love the smell of this. I have literally been applying it to my lips all the time and I will be putting it in my handbag to bring to college and out and about with me. This is available in Boots but I can't find a link online.

So Susan Haute Light Highlighting Pencil

So the last item in this month's box was a full sized highlighting pencil from So Susan and it was worth £15. I have used this to line my waterline to make myself look more awake (pictured above) and absolutely loved it. I also quite liked it for a brow bone highlight but I wouldn't recommend it as a cheek bone highlight, it's super pretty and gives off such a nice highlight but it is difficult to blend on the cheeks. The pencil is super creamy and soft though so it's gentle to use on your eye. If you wish to purchase this item, you can do so here:

What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday

This week's What I Wore Wednesday is from a recent night out with a few of my friends. I wore this Heidi collared jersey dress from Get That Trend and I paired it with my new peep toe wedge's from Korky's. I adored this dress as it was such a new take on the little black dress, I was also in love with the fact it had pockets!

Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

For this week's Manicure Monday I thought I would show you a Halloween inspired nail. I went for a relatively simple nail, using an orange background and then on my ring fingers I drew the outline of a pumpkin. For the orange I used Essence's "Flashy Pumpkin" (what could be more Halloween!), the black was "Black is Back" also by Essence and I used E.LF's "Teal Bule" for the stem of the pumpkin.

Method:
                                                                                                                             (step 3)
1. To begin, I filed my nails so they were even and that there were no hang nails.
2. I applied a base coat to prevent discolouring.
3. I painted the first coat of "flashy pumpkin" on all of my nails.
4. Once the first coat was dry, I applied a second coat of "flashy pumpkin."
5. After the second coat dried, using a thin nail brush I drew the outline of a pumpkin on my ring fingers (think of doing two c's facing each other.) with "black is back."
6. Once the outline had tried, I got another thin nail brush and drew a small green stalk on top of the pumpkin using "teal bule."
7. Once the ring fingers were both completely dry, I applied a top coat.

(step 5)
                 (step 6)

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my current every day make up routine/ my college make up routine. I go for a simple look that doesn't take too much time to wear to college, it has a very neutral eye and a nude lip perfect for Autumn.

To begin, I do my usual foundation routine which you can view here: However, I am back to using my Benefit Hello Flawless foundation and I apply it using a Real Techniques Expert Face brush. I also have started using a Revlon Colour Stay eyeliner in the shade "03 Brown" to fill in my brows.

For this look I use the Bourjous Smokey eye's trio in the brown shades. I have been loving this trio as it takes about 5 minutes to do my eyes and it only takes three steps so it's great when you're rushing to get ready. To start my eye's, I blend the medium brown colour into the crease of my eye's and along into the lid.

Next, I take the darkest shade of brown and blend it into the outer corner of the eyes.

I then gentley pat down the lighter cream shade into the inner corner to the middle of the lid.

To finish up the eye shadow, using a pencil brush, I apply the lighter brown shade along my lower lash line and blend it out. Then I curl my lashes using my No7 lash curler. (Sometimes I do apply a liquid liner to my upper lash line and when I do I use a Rimmel London Scandaleyes thick and thin liner.)

To complete my eye's, I line my waterline with my elf shimmering eye pencil in the white shade just to make my eye's look more awake. Then, I apply my mascara, the mascara I'm currently using and completely obsessed with is my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

To finish off my look, I lined my lips in my Rimmel London lip liner in the shade "East End Snob" and then used my Rimmel by Kate lipstick in the shade "03."

Completed Look:

Products I used:
 - Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

- Revlon Colour Stay Eyeliner in the shade "03 Brown"

- Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara

- Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner "East End Snob"

- Rimmel London Kate Lasting Finish "03" lipstick

So that's it for this week's Beauty Thursday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!
