Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

Okay sound the alarm people Birchbox is now shipping to Ireland! That's right you read correctly, Birchbox are here. As a result this week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my first ever Birchbox from February. The theme this month is "Shine bright like a diamond" so with that let's begin!

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick

First up in this month's box was this Love of Colour shadow stick, you got to pick from two colours; a gold and a silver shade. I picked "Perfect Cents" which was this fabulous gold colour. It's super creamy and pigmented I can't wait to make so many eye looks with this bad boy. This was a full size and is worth £8, you simply apply all over the lid and can blend with your finger tips.

Spectrum Collection Tapered Powder Brush

This tapered powder brush was another full sized product and also worth £8. This brush is so adorable and colourful plus it is extremely soft, I adore it! The fact it's tapered I think it's great for setting under eye concealer but can be used all over.

Doux Me Comforting Face Mask and Exfoliator

A full size of this product is worth £18 and it can be used as a face mask or an exfoliator. The product has extracts of camomile, apricot oil and marshmallow and it has a sweet smell without being overwhelming. To use as a mask you apply a thin layer to clean skin and leave it for 7-10 minutes without rinsing it off. To use as an exfoliator, you massage it into damp skin in circular motions and then rinse off.

Cochine Water Hyacinth & Lime Blossom lotion

A full size of this product is worth £19 and this little sample size if perfect for travel. The body lotion smells fresh and sweet and it's really moisturizing.

Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep &Protect

This was hands down my favourite product from the box this month and I definitely plan on buying the full size when I've finished the sample size. I'm not a fan of the smell of the product but I'm amazed at how a couple of spritz throughout my hair and it was so easy to brush through I've never found a detangler that works that well! When I had dried my hair it had dried so soft and really made a difference.

L. Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder

A "Beauty Bonus" of this month's box was one of these hair bobbins. A pack of 15 is worth £11.50 and I really like how sturdy this bobbin is in my hair.

Benefit They're Real! Primer

As a bonus for being one of the first 100 to sign up to Birchbox shipping to Ireland I also received this They're Real! primer and I can't wait to try it. I have a primer open at the moment but I've read great things so I can't wait to see the results.

Celebrity Style Sunday- Grammys and BAFTA's

Celebrity Style Sunday

So on Monday we had the biggest night in music, the Grammy's and the day before we also had the BAFTA's. Therefore, I decided to dedicate this week's Celebrity Style Sunday to my best dressed list from this year's red carpet of both the Grammy's and the BAFTA's.

First up is the BAFTA's.

Saoirse Ronan dazzled in this custom Burberry Prorsum gown.

Julianne Moore oozed elegance in this cream and black Armani Couture gown,

Another lady who rocked Armani on the red carpet was Dakota Johnson. She wowed in this fabulous red number.

Tanya Burr screamed sexy chic when she attended the BAFTA's this year. She stunned in this black and white figure hugging gown by Roland Mouret.

Isla Fisher was another beauty on this year's red carpet channeling old Hollywood glam. She wore this fabulous yet simple white gown by Stella McCartney.

Game of Throne's star Emila Clarke wowed in this plunging red figure hugging gown which featured cut outs on the shoulders by Victoria Beckham's Pre- Spring Summer 2016 collection.

Sarah Jane Crawford may have been working on the red carpet but the presenter was working the red carpet! She stunned in this black and white Stella McCartney number.

Eddie Redmayne may be the star of the family but wife Hannah stood out on her own accord for her fabulous fashion sense. The crimson coloured gown clung lightly to her bump and then flowed nicely to the ground. Her classic red gown was designed my Emilia Wickstead.

Olga Kurylenko made an impact when she wowed in this jaw dropping covered sheer dress by Ralph and Russo with a white lace pattern.

Gemma Chan looked fabulous on this year's BAFTA's, she dropped jaws in this long sleeved embellished Jenny Packham gown.

Angela Bassett brought a pop of colour in this berry, figure hugging gown by Galia Lahav.

Lastly for the BAFTA's best dressed list has got to be Kate Winslet. Kate showed up everyone else who hit that red carpet in my opinion in this fabulous asymmetric black gown by Antonio Berardi.

Now that the BAFTA's is covered, here is the best dressed list from the Grammy's.

First up for the Grammy's best dressed list is the fabulous Taylor Swift. She went for this dramatic Atelier Versace custom set with a pair of Stuart Weitzman.

Ellie Goulding wore this fabulous powder pink Stella McCartney gown which featured a dropped and embellished back.

I am absolutely obsessed with Selena Gomez' look from this Grammy's this year. She dropped jaws in this midnight blue sequined custom made Calvin Klein Collection dress which had an open back and skinny straps.

Bella Hadid went for an edgy-sexy vibe when she rocked this embroidered silk Alexandre Vauthier couture gown which featured a low neckline and cutouts at the waists.

Ariana Grande brought a siren vibe in this red Romona Keveza gown which featured a corset bodice and a fluted skirt.

Chrissy Teigan looked unbelievable wearing a Yousef Al-Jasmi dress which featured a floor length cape, a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes, an Amanda Pearl clutch and a pair of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Tori Kelly looked gorgeous in green while wearing a Gauri and Nainika dress, a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes and accessorized with Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

The last look for this week's Celebrity Style Sunday is Madison Beer. She wowed in this limited edition metallic mini which featured yellow flowers by Alexander McQueen.

That's it for this week's Celebrity Style Sunday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to the February Glossybox. With it being February, Glossybox did do a love themed box which was super adorable and pretty. All the products this month were full sized.

Nicka K New York 24H Waterproof Eye Liner

The first item in this month's box was the gorgeous waterproof eye liner from Nicka K. This product is worth £3.99 and came in a brown shade. I think the packaging is so pretty, it's super sleek and shiny looks way more expensive than it actually is and let me tell you it's definitely waterproof! I've only tried it a couple of times on my eyes but it has lasted all day and does take quite a while to come off, even when I swatched the liner on my hand the swatch wouldn't come off for ages. The liner itself is super creamy and glides on nice and easily, plus it's a twist-up so you don't have to sharpen which I think is so handy.

The Vintage Cosmetics Co. Floral Slanted Tweezers

The next item in this month's Glossybox was this adorable pair of tweezers. These were worth £8 and are the most adorable pair of tweezers I've ever owned. They're so pretty and do a great job.

Naobay Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner

We also received this protective and volumizing mask from Naobay. This was worth £10.64 and says it "leaves hair soft, silky and easy to manage." I have only used this once but I did find that my dry hair had felt much softer after use, you apply to just washed hair for three minutes and then rinse it out again. As it is only on the hair for three minutes I would recommend using it probably twice a week to be completely effective but I did quite like how my hair felt after use.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor

Another product we got in the February Glossybox was this razor from Wilkinsons. The razor was worth £6.99 and it came with a little holder to attach to the wall of your shower, because there is soap on the razor you don't need to use soap or shaving foam to shave. At first I quite liked this because the soap had made my legs feeling super soft and moisturized however, once I had dried off after my shower I found that although my legs seemed soft and hair free in the shower it actually didn't do a great job at removing the hair, I just found my legs very patchy and I had even gone over my legs in the shower a couple of times but it's still how it turned out. I will continue to use this, maybe when the soap gets used a little bit more it'll be easier for the blades but it wasn't my favourite razor.

MUA Power Pout Lip Glaze Low Voltage

The last product in this month's box was this lip gloss/ "lip glaze" from Make Up Academy in the shade "Serenity." This was worth £3.50 but it isn't like any ordinary lip gloss. The applicator was like a little brush but you had to twist the bottom to get the product up to through the brush and the brush it on to the lips that way. I thought the colour was really pretty and a great colour for Valentine's day and the scent of vanilla was amazing. The only thing I would recommend is it's a bit sticky and a super glossy gloss so definitely do not wear your hair down with this gloss if you plan on going outside. Other than that little tip I really liked it, Make Up Academy does such great products and their prices are ridiculously low, I just love them.
