Celebrity Style Sunday
The world watched when Kate Middleton married Prince William and became the Duchess Of Cambridge. Throughout her relationship with William everyone was fascinated by Kate's flare for fashion and as soon as she wore something the outfit would be sold out within minutes. Not only is she our favourite princess she is a true fashion icon. There are so many amazing fashion moments from Kate but here are just a few of my favourite ones.
Kate is one of the few icons who recycles outfits this was one of the many that she has repeated. Kate looked the picture of elegance when she wore this cornflower blue coat by Alexander McQueen when she joined the royal family remembering D-Day. She also wore this coat almost a month apart in Blenheim, New Zealand when her and William were on the Royal Tour. You can get Kate's Alexander McQueen coat here:
Kate arrived in New Zealand with Prince William and Prince George in tow to kick start their Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand. Kate stepped off the plane wearing a bright pillar box red coat by Catherine Walker, who Kate had worn during the 2011 North American Tour which was also red. She accessorized her look with a similar hat by Gina Foster, she completed her look with brown suede pumps and a clutch from Emmy Shoes. You can get a similar black clutch from Debenhams by J by Jasper Conran here:
Continuing their Royal Tour, the Duke and Duchess headed off to a Palm Sunday Church service. Kate wore an aquamarine dress by Emilia Wickstead, Kate loves Wickstead's designs and wears them frequently. She paired her dress with a Jane Taylor hat and Emmy shoes and clutch. (The link for a cheaper and similar bag is in the outfit above.)
Touching down in Sydney, Kate donned a custom sunshine yellow dress by Roksanda Llincic, Kate paired the dress with her L.K Bennett sledge shoes in nude with a straw Natalie clutch bag. You can get a similar peep toe version of Kate's here: you can also get a similar clutch from Oasis here:
In February 2014 Kate attended the National Portrait Gallery's annual Portrait Gala in London. Kate arrived in this stunning ink blue Jenny Packham Autumn Winter 2013 gown which she had worn previously in October 2013 to the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala. Kate paired her gown with her Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps.
Kate wowed in this vibrant blue dress from L.K Bennett on Valentine's Day. The fabulous dress has an interesting neckline, she paired the dress with her black Episode Angel shoes. You can get this amazing dress here:
Kate wore this gorgeous teal Jenny Packham gown to the London Olympic Games Gala back in 2012. You can get a similar dress in a more emerald colour to Kate's here:
In September 2012 the Duchess of Cambridge attended a dinner and awards ceremony for Tusk Trust, Kate dazzled in one of her favourite designers Jenny Packham. The drop waist gown was figure hugging for Packham's No1 collection for Debenhams. She paired it with Jimmy Choo Vamps in silver. You can get the gold version here:
During the announcement of her engagement to the future King of England in November 2010, Kate wore a sapphire dress to co-ordinate with the ring given to her by Prince William which was designed by Daniella Issa Helayal. The long sleeved, low cut wrap dress is described as one of Issa's "classic silk jersey dresses" which was paired with simple black pumps and of course that amazing ring. The dress became an immediate hit and sold out almost instantly, at the time a poll by MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk ranked the dress as the second most iconic outfit of 2010. You can get a similar and cheaper version to the dress from Diane Von Furstenberg here:
In October 2013 Prince William and Catherine took Prince George to his christening. Kate wore a dress with a ruffled coat over it by Alexander McQueen. She paired the outfit with a cream floral fascinator by Jane Taylor Millinery and her white Russell and Bromley shoes. I absolutely adore this outfit it is one of my all time favourites. To me, Kate just seems to be the epitome of elegance and class. She looks stunning.
Now to the dress we have all been waiting for and my all time favourite Kate Middleton style moment is definitely her wedding dress. This breath taking gown was designed by Sarah Burton by Alexander McQueen and was worn on the 29th of April 2011 when she married her prince charming Prince William. This dress was one of the best kept secrets of 2011 and the designer wasn't even revealed until Kate stepped from her car to enter Westminster Abbey. Replicas of the gown were produced and sold as it was noted for its design, symbolism and influence over brides everywhere. The original dress was displayed at Buckingham Palace from July until October 2011. Kate did an excellent job combining tradition and modernity working closely with Burton. I can't express how much I worship this gown it is just so amazing and is hands down one of my favourite wedding dresses of all time!
That's all folks, hope you enjoyed today's Celebrity Style Saturday!
