Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my review of the April Birchbox. This month's box was a collaboration with Rifle Paper and is just so pretty. I am so happy with this month's box I can't wait to share it with you guys!

Parlor by Jeff Chastain Detangling Leave in Conditioner

I have used this product a couple of times now and absolutely love it! It smells so fab and is nice and fruity, it also works really well at detangling. You spray onto damp hair and then comb through, the full size is worth £17.

Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner

This next item was so well timed as my current eye liner is almost gone. I am really impressed with this liner as it is so creamy and super pigmented! Perfect for a smudged smokey eye or just as a regular look. This was a full sized product worth £11.

Kueshi Foot Care Cream

I am a big fan of the brand Kueshi, I've received some of the products before from Glossybox so as usual I was not disappointed when I saw it in this month's Birchbox. I'm not a big foot cream user but I do like to use them the odd time when my feet are feeling super dry. This made my feet feel soft and moisturized so it did it's job. A full size is worth £12.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

The Balance Me eye cream is worth £20 when full size but I think we got a good travel size that should last quite well. This is a tinted eye cream so it's able brighten and conceal the under. Using your ring finger just pat under the eye, it last well and I think it did a good job as I don't suffer too bad with dark circles. It can also be used as an eye shadow primer!

Benefit Dew The Hoola

I was unbelievably excited to receive this product, the full size is worth £22.50 but this travel sizes should last quite some time! Benefit's Hoola bronzer is famous so it is no shock that their Dew the Hoola liquid bronzer is as pigmented and fabulous as the original and it is so creamy and easy to blend.

Celebrity Style Sunday

Celebrity Style Sunday

This week's Celebrity Style Sunday is dedicated to the natural beauty that is the stunning Lily Collins. With style as fabulous as her brows how could I not dedicate a Sunday post to her!

Back in February, Lily chose a daring dress for the Vanity Fair Oscars after party. She wore this gold plunging sequined gown by Saint Laurent and a pair of Stuart Weitzman nudist sandals.

In March 2013, Lily was seen looking casual and chic while leaving Red O restaurant in Los Angeles. She wore a Topshop Jacket with leather sleeves, a pair of J Brand 9221 Bella jeans, a pair of Brian Atwood Bambola pumps and a Zadig & Voltair Sunny bag. You can purchase the jacket without the leather sleeves here:

Lily was breathtaking when she showed up at the Lancome 80th Anniversary party in Paris back in July 2015. She wore this gorgeous Mikael D pre-Fall 2015 dress.

In August 2013, Lily rocked the red carpet at the Flaunt magazine and G-Star Raw party for the pre-release of the DYE issue. She wore a Roland Mouret Spring 2013 top with a black skirt from the same collection and a pair of Jimmy Choo Anouk black suede pointed toe pumps with silver studs. Boohoo have a similar top here:

In October 2014, Lily looked fabulous at the Love, Rosie signing in London. She wore a David Korma Fall 2014 leather dress and a pair of Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps.

The actress looked edgy while headed to Whole Foods back in February. She wore a pair of STROM tio skinny jeans in lion, a Gerard Darel Le Mini Indie bag and a pair of Zadig & Voltair zag talon deluxe boots. River Island have similar jeans available here:

In December 2014, Lily brought a pop of colour to the Love, Rosie premiere in Tokyo. She wore this burnt orange Maticevski Resort 2015 Thorax gown and a pair of Christian Louboutin Follies Resille pumps.

In July 2015, Miss Collins looked tres chic in Paris. She wore a pair of Kurt Geiger Britton lace pumps, a Topshop sleeveless duster, a pair of trousers from Elizabeth and James Presli in ivory and a Chanel girl bag. You can purchase the same duster from Topshop here:

One of my favourite looks from Lily is back from August 2008 when she attended The Mortal Instruments City of Bones premiere. She wore this fabulous Cushnie Et Ochs ivory fishnet stamped leather dress and a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Fall 2013 pumps.

Lily still managed to bring the fabulous while looking casual in Beverly Hills in January last year. She wore a Max Mara Hudson coat, a pair of Paige Jane zip jeans in Rayen destructed, a Coach Swagger bag and a pair of Elizabeth and James Talbert sunglasses. Miss Guided have a similar coat available here:

In August 2013, Lily brought her angelic side to the red carpet for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones premiere in Toronto. She wore this gorgeous Houghtan 2013 bridal gown and a Demarci Lb2990 diamond ring.

The last look for this week's Celebrity Style Sunday is from February 2015 when Lily went bold and daring at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. She wore this Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 sheer couture gown with a pair of Christian Louboutin body strass pumps.

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my review of the April Glossybox. I saw posts about this month's box before mine came and was really excited however, the product that all the other bloggers made such a big deal out of wasn't even in my box so I did end up a bit disappointed.

Essence Mosaic Compact Powder

First up in this month's box was the full size bronzer from Essence. It's worth £3 and is very pretty. I think if you are tanned this product will not work for you but when I don't have tan on it does appear quite pretty and brings a nice colour to the skin despite the not so pigmented swatch. I also love that it smells like coconuts when I apply it.

Swiss Smile Whitening toothpaste

Net up was another full size product, this was a whitening toothpaste worth £29.95. I have only used this a couple of times so far so I can't comment on how much of a whitening effect it can have but considering the price I would hope it does work. Some whitening toothpastes that I have tried feel like you need to brush your teeth with regular toothpaste beforehand so that my mouth would still feel clean but with this one it did feel clean.

BANDI Intense Moisturizing Cream

The next product isn't a full size but is a good sized travel size. This moisturizer contains vitamins A,E and D and so far has been feeling really nice and moisturizing on my face. Thankfully this was still super gentle on my skin as I do have sensitive skin and it worked well with my dry skin. The full size of this product is £9.70

Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner

The last full sized product in this month's box was this brow pencil from Studio 10 worth £22. Luckily this shade was a good match for my brows as even though I have blonde hair my brows and lashes are quite dark so it's a good match. I also hate when brow products pull red whereas this does keep the nice brown colour with no red tine so it'll definitely be used up. The only thing this product is missing is the spooly where it has the highlight shade but the highlight is quite handy when you're going for an intense and precise brow.

The Body Shop Oil of Life

The last item in this month's box was this Intensely Revitalising facial oil. This was another sample size and the full size is worth £28. Even though I do suffer from dry skin I was hesitant to put oil on my face because I don't like feeling greasy but it actually felt quite nice on my face and my skin was super soft.

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is another empties post! I have actually got quite a lot of products to talk to you guys about, I don't know how I have gotten through so much stuff lately but let's get into it!
I finished two bottle of shower gel this recently. I finished the Radox Shower gel in "Coconut Kiss." I adore this shower gel I go through this range all the time, I have since repurchased "cherry blast." I also finished the travel size of the Beauty Protector Beauty Wash which I got in a Birchbox. I love the smell of this stuff as well but Ziaja do a similar wash for much less so I won't be purchasing the full size.

I also finished two moisturizers, one a body moisturizer and the other was my face one. I used up all of my Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip body moisturizer. I am absolutely in love with this stuff, it's a great moisturizer and smells so fab! I found it lasts a really long time and if you have fake tan on it helps prolong the tan, I already have a back up of this stuff I'm relieved to say. I also used up another Le Roche Posay hydra-phase  facial moisturizer which again I have already repurchased.

This next item I got in my first ever Birchbox the other month and it has quickly become one of my favourite items ever! I completely used up the sample of Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Prep & Protect. This is probably the best detangling spray I've ever used, the smell isn't the greatest but I have gotten used to it. I bought a full size of it after I used up the sample size and it wasn't the cheapest at £20 but it was that good I'm willing to pay it, honestly a couple of spritz and I could easily brush through my extremely knotty hair.

An item I am getting rid of is the Wilkinson Sword Intuition razor, I received this in the February Glossybox and wasn't impressed at all. The first time I used this it was great and then every time after that I hated it, it leaves your legs feeling soft in the shower but as soon as you get out and dry them off, I found that it wasn't a close shave at all. Definitely would not recommend purchasing.

I finished up one bottle of the Colab Dry Shampoo in the scent "New York" I'm currently trying out a Garnier one which I'm not a huge fan of but I want to use up and I also have a Batiste one I want to use up before purchasing a new one but I will definitely repurchase at some stage, the scent was nice and it worked well.

I used up two of the Tresemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Intense treatment. These are great little handy treatments that make your hair feel nice and soft, due to the fact you only leave them in for 60 seconds I can't imagine they do much of a long term treatment but for a day when you want your hair to feel a little nicer and softer they're great. I have one more left and a few more hair treatments to use up but I would recommend it and possibly repurchase in the distant future.

I finished up yet another bottle of the Garnier Ultimate Blends conditioner with avocado and shea butter. I love the smell of this stuff and have gotten a few of my friends to try it out too. I did go back to my Aussie conditioner because the store was all out when I went to buy some but I will probably repurchase again soon.

I also used up a tester of the Face Atelier Ultra foundation which led me on to purchase the full size, you can check out a full review here. I'm also throwing out the Maybelline Dream Satin liquid foundation in "ivory" I used to love this foundation but I just haven't reached for it in quite some time and to be honest I think I've held on to it too long because the consistency has gone a bit strange so time to go! I would recommend the foundation but looking back it is just too pinky of an undertone to match me properly so I might see if there is a better shade at some stage but I'm not in any rush.

I haven't used up but I've decided to pass this Nicka K ColorLuxe blush on to my friend because I just never reach for it and she would get more use out of it. I received this in a Glossybox but as much as I tried to make myself reach for it I never did and I'd rather not waste it so it's better to just pass it on.

I'm sad to say I have completely used up two of my favourite more expensive mascaras. I used up the Benefit They're Real mascara, this used to be my favourite mascara until I discovered the Too Faced one, now it is a very very close second but I was still super sad to have used it up! I also used up what has become my all time favourite mascara the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara which has me extremely heartbroken, I even tried the whole eye drops into the mascara to really get the most out of it but there's officially nothing left. I have like 8 unopened mascaras waiting for me to try at the moment so I can't justify repurchasing either of these until I've at least used some of them but I will 110% be repurchasing both of these at some stage!

There are two liquid type eye liners in this empties post. I used another Essence I love Style liquid liner and a Benefit They're Real Push up liner. The Essence one is a great liner for the price and it has a nice pigment and the Benefit is super easy to use and super pigmented also. I plan on repurchasing the Benefit liner soon!

Don't worry folks we are at the end, the last items I have to talk about are the three eye liner pencils I have used up. I used up two of the MeMeMe eye liner pencils one in "kohl" the other in "clay" and they are both great eye liners, super soft and nice and creamy. I would definitely repurchase them and lastly I finished up an Avon eye liner in "flashy copper" which was also soft and pigmented it was also great as it has a twisty top so you didn't have to sharpen it.

So that's it for this week's Beauty Thursday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog! What items have you finished up recently?
