Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Garnier Ambre Solaire no streaks bronzer. I chose it in the medium shade. This spray is so easy to use. I really liked the colour I got with this tan, but due to the fact the spray is clear I would recommend doing the tan gradually for a few days and build up layers because it is heard to tell if you have missed a spot.

I would rate this tan 3.8/5 because it does have a fake tan smell and takes longer than it says it does to develop but overall it's a nice tan!

Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

Hey Guys, so I don't have a tan to review for you lovely people this week so I figured I would give you a couple tips to remove blotchy tan marks.

1. Toothpaste helps remove small patches
2. Another useful tip is lemon juice, just rest your hands for a few minutes.
3. Lastly is the obvious tip which is exfoliater.

I'm afraid that's it for this week's Tan Tuesday, a short and sweet post. I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

This week's Tan Tuesday is Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs, this is the spray on instant tan. This time I tried the "Light Glow" Shade and it didn't specify that it was water resistant. I really like this tan because as I said before it dries quickly and is so cheap. The light shade was nice because it wasn't too light but I did find it had a slight orangey tint to it that I felt I could have just gone darker and had the orange tint anyway. Since I have mastered putting on lotion before applying the tan it hasn't dried out my skin so yay to me!

I would rate this tan 3.8/5 because it's such a good tan but the next day I did find there was a slight "glow" on my sheets so it's a tad messy.

Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

For this week's Tan Tuesday I thought I would write about how to apply your fake tan. I previously did a blog post on how to prepare leading up to tanning which you can check out here:

First of all you should think about what type of tanner you want to use:
- You can use Gradual tanner which involves multiple applications depending on how dark you want to make your tan.
- Or you can apply an Instant Tan which as is given away in the title shows up instantly with a sun kissed glow.

This tip is very important, pick the right colour. If you have fair skin, buy a light or medium coloured tan. Don't go for the darkest tan because it wont suit your skin tone. If you find your tan is too light just apply another coat.

When it comes to applying fake tan, I recommend you always use a mitt because otherwise the palms of your hands will look ridiculous which is a dead give away that you're wearing fake tan.

Now it's time to apply, squeeze a small amount of your tan onto your mitt and working from your ankles up in circular movements, and do one body part at a time so you're sure not to miss any spots. When doing your feet, spread the tanner from your legs.

When applying tan to your back I always recommend you ask a friend to help you.

And there you have it folks, that's this week's Tan Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Tan Tuesday

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Cocoa Brown's "Night and Day" tan. I really like this tan for an "in a hurry tan" because it shows up instantly and what's great about this tan that's unlike most other instant tans is that even after showering the next day you still have a light colour that lasts a few days. I am also in love with the fact it's so cheap, it costs only e10.39 and lasts a good while.

I would rate Cocoa Brown "Night and Day" tan 4.8/5 because it's so cheap and is the perfect instant tan that leaves you with a nice glow for the next couple of days.

This week's Tan Tuesday is a review of In Touch Beauty and Treatment Centre in Airside Co. Dublin. A friend of mine got her spray tan for her debs done there and looked AMAZING! So far it has been five days and her tan still looks perfect, and her skin hasn't dried out.

As far as spray tans go I would rate In Touch Beauty and Treatment Centre 5/5 because they're nice and affordable but do a perfect tan.

This week's Tan Tuesday is Rimmel's Sunshimmer Instant Tan Bronzing Spray in Golden. I must say I really like this tan because when you spray it you get a nice natural tan but if you want to go a bit darker for a night out, you just spray another layer and build it up. I think this would be a great tan for anyone who hasn't tanned before because it is so easy that you can't really go wrong but I wouldn't recommend wearing white because it does leave some marks. I am also loving the smell of this tan it's kind of femine without being too overpowering, and no fake biscuit smell!

I would rate this tan 4/5 because it's so cheap and doesn't smell. Plus it leaves such a nice natural tan instead of the orangey colour some tans give and it didn't streak!

Tan Tuesday

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Garnier Summer Body Moisturizing Lotion Deep Sun-Kissed Look. I used this product for three days in a row and my skin seemed to have a healthy, natural glow. The instant smell you get with the tan is nice (it actually does smell of apricots) but sadly the next day I found that I smelt like a biscuit. I did find it really good for building up a natural looking, even tan. It also takes a little while to dry so I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a hurry to go somewhere. Also as you guys know I do suffer with dry skin and it did emphasis a patch of it on my arm.

I would rate this tan a 3.5/5 because it's a really nice gradual tanner, it doesn't come off all orange and is super affordable. However, what let me down was the next-day biscuit smell and the problem of it emphasizing any dry skin.

This week's Tan Tuesday is Rimmel London Sunshimmer Instant tan and BB Perfector light matte. This tan costs 8.99 euro, it lasts 24hour before fading and can be washed off. I love this tan and can't believe it took me so long to try this product! It's so easy to blend and doesn't appear orange, patchy or glittery.

I rate this tan 5/5 because it's nice and cheap and such a good product! It doesn't appear like an orange baked tan, it appears so nice on the skin.

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Johnson's Holiday skin body lotion for fair to medium skin. I really liked the smell of the lotion and it wasn't too streaky but I feel like I got a slight glow off of my skin rather than looking darker or anything so it might just have been that it wasn't dark enough to leave streaks anyway.

A while ago I tried it when I had a natural tan and I found it good at maintaining my tan but to put it directly on to pale skin I didn't really love it.

I would rate this tan 3/5 because it's super cheap (5.99euro) and it's good at maintaining a natural tan but not so much for fake tanning.

Today's Tan Tuesday is Piz Buin Self Tanning lotion and colour dial. I used to use this products years ago because I liked the idea of adjusting the dial to suit my skin tone. I saw the tan develop quite quickly after about two hours although it was much better the next day. I always liked my tan because you always got a really nice and natural colour and I found that I never looked orange.

I would rate this tan at 3.9/5 because I did really like the tan itself, that to me deserves 5/5 but I remember being sticky for a good while after and now that I have discovered tans that don't smell like tan I can't stand the smell of fake tan

Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

For today's Tan Tuesday I chose "Skinny Tan" gradual tanner. It is a daily self tanning moisturiser that uses a natural tanning active and Guarana.  First thing I have to say is I am OBSESSED with the smell of it, it is amazing on the day like a coconut scent. I spent the rest of the day just smelling myself. The day after I didn't really like the smell though, it was one of those gross tan smells and I was convinced I stank of it, BUT no one else could smell it so that's a good thing.

I must admit that my skin felt super smooth after it dried and even the next day I could still feel it being really smooth before I had even applied more tanner. The tan itself I wasn't really impressed with I have to admit, I applied it every day for four days and I did have a tan but it was more like I had only applied it once.

I would rate this tanner 3/5 because I have such mixed feelings about it. The lotion effects such as the same day smell and the moisturising of my skin are what make me like it but the tanner (which is why I bought it!) really let me down and the next day smell. I might try it again down the line to see if I apply it for longer will that make any difference but yeah kinda disappointed by the product (sorry Skinny Tan.)

(The tan wasn't dark enough to show up in a photo.)

Tan Tuesday

Tan Tuesday

Hey guys, for this week's Tan Tuesday I decided to write about the prep work that goes in before you do your fake tan. No matter what brand of tan you apply you should always make sure to do these steps beforehand.

If you shave your legs, you should shave the day before you apply the tan because sometimes legs that are just shaved can react to tan.

To begin preparing your body for fake tan, I would recommend using an exfoliating brush. You take the dry exfoliating brush and brush it all over your body in circular motions. This will brush off the dry skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. I got one in a chemist a while ago but it doesn't say the brand on it, but you can get a similar looking exfoliating brush here:

The next step is to use your exfoliating body scrub, I use St. Ives invigorating apricot body scrub. While in the shower, you massage the scrub into your skin also in circular motions and then rinse it off. This step is so essential for a streak free tan. You can purchase the St. Ives apricot body scrub here:

The final stage in preparing for your tan is to use your loofah. Apply your shower gel to the loofah and rub it into the the skin. At the moment I use Dove revive body wash with pomegranate and lemon which you can purchase here:

Your last step is once you have dried off fully, to apply your tan. Remember the steps above are so important because when you exfoliate properly, the tan absorbs into the skin better and lasts longer. Also, even if you're not tanning make sure to exfoliate regularly.

There you have it folks, hope you enjoyed today's Tan Tuesday!

Tan Tuesday

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel. I found this gel great for getting a natural looking colour and it lasted well. I found the smell annoying though because I have found tans that don't smell but before I knew of those tans I thought it was great. This tan definitely needs to be applied with a mitt because it will go all over the inside of your hands if you rub it in with them. This is a great product if you're not looking to go extremely dark but want one shade darker just to enhance your glow.

I would rate this tan 3/5 because it takes so long to dry but is still a great product.

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Rimmel London Instant Tan Eraser. Sometimes when tan goes a bit haywire it is handy to know I have a back up plan to help me correct it. The creamy tan remover gets rid of tan from the body or the dace in 30 seconds. You just massage the cream onto the area you want to clean and then rinse it off.

I would rate the Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan Eraser 5/5 because I haven't found any product like it and it does a great job when you need an extra hand with your tan.

This week's Tan Tuesday I chose Dove's Summer Glow and Soft Shimmer nourishing lotion, I tried the medium to dark skin. I must say when you are in the sun the soft shimmer turns into a bit of a glitter bomb. I woke up the morning after I applied it to a really great dark, natural tan. It looked flawless, I am seriously obsessed with this product! My body is so unbelievably soft because of the nourishing lotion part and I have a great tan which everyone complimented me on, it looked like I had come back from a week or two abroad.

I would rate this tan 5/5 because it's a great tan and lotion. It is also so cheap and right now it's actually half price so costs only 3.34 euro (I just ordered another bottle!)

For this week's Tan Tuesday I chose Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan. This tan is a rub in mousse that develops in an hour. The tan was really easy to apply and blended well. It wasn't too messy or streaky, the tan also dries really quick so your skin doesn't feel wet or sticky for too long. I really liked this tan because it was a nice gold colour and wasn't too orange and the colour wasn't too dark that it looked ridiculous.

I would rate this tan a 5/5 it's such a great tan and doesn't smell like chicken curry. The tan was also water proof which is a relief in case it was raining. Plus it's cheap which is great!

This week's Tan Tuesday I chose Dove's Summer Glow. I chose the one for fair to medium and I quite liked it. I used it everyday for a week and found that it enhanced the natural tan that I had gotten from the great weather we were having and gave off a nice glow.It did take the few days before I noticed a change but if you are looking for a really natural tan then I would definitely recommend it. If you're looking for a really dark one for a night out then I don't think this would be suitable. This natural tan is so great because it just brightens up the skin without it looking fake and what's great is because it is a moisturizing lotion it moisturizes the skin. The moisturizing part is quite help because I personally have really sensitive skin as I have mention before, and it normally dries out from tan but the moisturizing lotion made sure to prevent that which was great. It also smells great too which is a plus. I do get really nervous when applying tanning products that develop over time because you can't see if you've missed a spot or if it's streaky but this one really wasn't at all it was great.

I would rate this tan 4.5/5 because I am obsessed with it because it's so cheap and amazing but it does take a while to dry.

For today's Tan Tuesday I chose Skin Deep's Self Tanning Wipes. I chose the tanning wipes when I attended my friend's debs because I had used them years ago when I was a bridesmaid for my aunt and thought they were great. Thankfully I discovered that they were still available and bought some, the wipes are great because as I have mentioned in previous blogs I have really sensitive skin and some tans irritate that but these didn't! They also come out really even and natural, it was like I had just been away for three weeks without the risk of sunburn. These wipes are unbelievably cheap at only 3.99 euro and has hardly any scent compared to other tans. It's great how the tan doesn't come out streak or patchy which is what makes me nervous about using wipes because you can't see where you applied it but these really are great.

I would recommend these tanning wipes to anyone and would rate them 5/5 because they're so easy to use and have such good results!

Tan Tuesday

This week's Tan Tuesday is going to be a little different, for this Tan Tuesday I chose a salon that does spray tanning. The picture above is my friend at our debs, she got her spray tan done at Nevaeh Health and Beauty salon in Ashford county Wicklow. I got my make up there for my debs and have had my nails done there numerous times and love it. Back to the tan though, Sabine the woman who owns it offers you a choice of how dark you want to go and my friend chose the darkest possible for our debs. She loved her tan and said it dried really quick for a spray tan and she didn't get that sticky feeling for too long afterwards. So if you're in the Wicklow area and want a spray tan I would definitely recommend going to Nevaeh, the girls working there are so nice and easy to talk to and the end product is always amazing!

If you want to contact Sabine at Nevaeh you can contact them here:
