Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my September favourites. This post is filled the beauty and skincare products I have been loving recently. I have really enjoyed Summer and I will probably regret saying this but I am so ready for warm and cosy clothes, and Autumn/Winter scented candles, so on that note let's get started!

My first favourite of probably the past 3 month's not just September is the Wow Brown Self tan in "dark." A friend told me about this tan back in March but I never got around to trying it until July and I quickly became obsessed! It takes a while to dry so you need to apply it the night before but it doesn't have that horrible fake tan smell and it lasts for a week and fades naturally! This has definitely gone up to one of my all time favourite tans! I LOVE it!!!

The second product I have been obsessed with is this Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. I have the honey and the raspberry flavour although so far I have only tried the Honey one but it works miracles. I am dying to try see Winter try dry up my lips with this bad boy! I am quite addicted to matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks and so sometimes my poor lips get quite dry however, a couple of days after using this oil my lips were plump and moisturized.

Lately I have been absolutely addicted to MAC's matte lipstick in "Velvet Teddy." This is such a classic in so many people's collections, it is the perfect nude. So pigmented and it lasts well!

I recently bought this MUA Professional Brush Cleaner and have been using it non stop since. This huge bottle cost £5 and I've barely made a dent, this is a perfect spot cleaner for your make up brushes when you're doing an eye look. It's perfect for using if your mixing shadows or even to use in between washes.

Another tan type of product which I have adored using is the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess. There is a reason it has become a firm favourite with all the Kardashians. This dry oil is the perfect highlight to apply to your tanned legs for nights out. For my 21st I even applied it on my shoulders and clavicle , I GLOWED, definitely recommend it!

In the July Glossybox, I received this Hairon Detangle brush and I haven't stopped using it since. It's one of the few brushes I can use with my extensions and it's perfect and handy to carry around in your bag.

July was a good month for products in the Glossybox as another product I have been loving is this Blank Canvas F20 brush. I adore the way my foundation applies using this brush, it is truly flawless! I haven't used a different foundation brush since I got this one.

For my birthday one of my friends got me the Victoria Secret Pure Seduction body spray. I've been using this most days, it's great for travel as the plastic bottle doesn't break and it smells great. The scent is sweet, cherry without being too overwhelming and lasts well.

Even though the Wow Brown said you can use that tan on your face I don't really like applying tans that aren't specifically facial ones to my face. I have been non stop using this UTan and Tone Nourishing Night cream. This is great as it gives a nice natural tan and it doesn't stain your pillows! Seeing as the tan is also a night cream it smells so, so nice and is really hydrating to the skin unlike normal tan.

The last item this month is another brush, this time from MUA it's the E3 blending brush. This bad boy is so good at blending and amazingly it only cost £1.95! I wasn't expecting it to be very good for that price to be honest but I was so pleasantly surprised it works well with the shadows and is so soft.

So that's it for this week's Beauty Thursday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

This week's Beauty Thursday is dedicated to my review of the September Glossybox. First off the box design this month is gorgeous I love the red for a nice change and it's so sleek, and the box overall was probably my favourite in a long time, now that's out of the way let's get in to the products!

Rodial Smokey Eye Pen

First up is this full size gel liner pen from Rodial worth £17. I was quite happy to receive another liner as a girl can never have too many black liners and I'm running low on my current pencil. I do like this pencil it's very pigmented, I do have liners that are more of an intense black but I can't wear those liners when I have contacts in but this was still quite pigmented and was compatible with my contacts.

The Organic Pharmacy Antioxident Lip Balm

We also received this full sized lip balm worth £12. You can use on its own or on top of lipstick. This smells so nice and felt super soft on the lips, I could smell the shea butter and I also thought I could smell and taste honey but I could be wrong.

Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask

Another full size product was this Hydro Face Mask which apparently provides 120 hours of hydration worth £7.99. This is another one to add to the sheet mask trend but I'm quite excited to give it a go, my skin could use a bit of hydration.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

So as soon as I found out we were getting a sample of the Better Than Sex mascara I was super excited as it is one of my favourites! A full size is worth £19, I'm waiting to get through a couple mascaras to see if I like them as I have far too many in my collection at the moment (*spoiler alert: mascara collection post is coming soon!) before I open this one because I know if they're all terrible I can throw them away and I'll still have this baby. I did a full review of this mascara before which you can check it out here:

Catrice Volumizing Lip Booster

The last product this month was this full size Lip Booster gloss from Catrice 3.95. This claims to plump your lips while still nourishing them. Honestly I didn't see much of an effect, I could feel the mint, tingling feeling from the gloss but it wouldn't be strong enough for anyone who is nervous about that type of feeling. My lips looked super glossy and it was a pretty colour without being too pigmented but I don't think it had an overwhelming plump effect it was more they looked glossy but I still quite liked the product.

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal

Finally, we received a little bonus product of this sample sized charcoal mask. A full size is worth £15 and it's aim is to purify the skin so I assume it's going to remove all the toxins with the charcoal. I did this mask one day and applied the hydrating one the next night. I really liked how clean and healthy my skin looked after the mask though it did sting for a few minutes while it was on.

So the full size products alone brought the value of the box up to £41 and that's excluding all the sample sizes. If you want to subscribe to Glossybox, you can do so here:

So that's it for this week's Beauty Thursday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Celebrity Style Sunday

Celebrity Style Sunday

This week's Celebrity Style Sunday is dedicated to the insanely beautiful Emily Ratajkowski. The model's style off the runway is as impeccable as it is on the runway.

First up for this week's post is this fabulous ensemble from August 2015 when Emily attended the We Are Your Friends LA premiere. She stunned in a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti crisscross patent heels, Maria Lucia Hohan Resort 2016 Rita gown.

In July 2016, the Instagram star posted this laid back yet still fabulous photo on the app. She wore a Vince Basic tee, a pair of Re/Done high rise shorts and Woodys Barcelona Dean sunglasses. You can purchase the same pair of shorts as Emily here:

In April, Emily looked stunning at the Glamours Game Changers lunch. She wore a pair of Stuart Weitzman nudist sandals and a Bec & Montana off the shoulder dress. She accessorized with a Burberry square belt bag.

I adore this look from January this year, Emily wowed at the Svedka Vodka Broken Resolutions bash. She wore a Love Nookie Bellisima long sleeve dress and a pair of Aquazzura Amazon lace up sandals. You can purchase a similar dress from Miss Guided here:

In September 2014, the young model looked smokin' at the Gone Girl premiere. She rocked this fabulous Safiyaa drop shoulder heartneck gown.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how fabulous Emily looks in this Instagram photo from last month?! She was a fox in this American Apparel crisscross overall one piece swimsuit. You can purchase this exact swimsuit here:

In May 2016, Emily looked fabulous and still casual while out and about in Los Angeles. She wore a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor's, a fabulous Prabal Gurung wool cashmere cardigan, a pair of Citizens of Humanity Liya classic high rise jeans, and a Thaperfest Doheny sweater. She accessorized with a Miu Miu pre Fall 2016 saddle bag.

In July 2016, the child actress went for a more edgy look while out in Los Angeles. She wore an Express Edition embroidered silk cami and side laced leather mini skirt, a pair of Express faux suede thick heeled sandals and an Express Edition drapey boyfriend blazer.

Emily was kitted out for the cold back in January. She wore a pair of Brian Atwood Tamara sandals and a McQ Alexander McQueen belted coat. You can purchase a similar coat here:

In July 2016, Emily looked great while celebrating the 4th of July at a pool party cookout in the Hamptons. She wore a Privacy Please hoge top, a pair of Grlfrnd x Revolve Helena high rise straight jeans, a Burberry square belt bag and a pair of Stuart Weitzman nudist sandals.

Back in February, Miss Ratajkowski wowed at the Elton John AIDS foundation Oscar viewing party. She wore an Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2016 dress, a pair of Casadei Blade metallic sandals and a pair of Aurelie Bidermann Vera triangle earrings. You can purchase a similar dress here:

Last month, Emily looked edgy while going for dinner at Craig's with Andrew Dryden. She wore a Nookie Paradise strap midi dress, a pair of Yeezus season 2 booties and a Salar Mimi bag.

My all time favourite look from Emily is from February 2016 when she stunned at the Net A Porter Women Behind the Lens event. She wore a Reiss Raine skirt, a pair of Brian Atwood Tamara sandals, a Reformation Camille top and a Lee Savage Space clutch.

So that's it for this week's Celebrity Style Sunday, I hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Beauty Thursday

Beauty Thursday

For this week's Beauty Thursday I thought I would dedicate this post on my "everyday makeup drawer." Unlike the rest of my makeup which is in my Ikea Alex drawers, I keep what I use everyday in this blue plastic drawer on my desk. This holds my basic items, some things get swapped out but most of the items stay the same. I would also like to note that I do not wear make up everyday but these are what I would consider my everyday that I do wear it products!

It always holds my concealers, the foundation I'm using at the time and powder. The foundation usually changes but at the moment I am using the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix foundation. The concealers and powders stay the same; Collection Perfecting Concealer, The Natural Collection Corrector stick, Art Deco Fixing powder and Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder.

I keep the Sleek Face Form in fair and Benefit Majorette blush. I usually choose one between those two blushes and the trio supplies the contour and highlight. During the Summer this Essence bronzer Mosaic powder has had a trusted place in the everyday drawer.

The Revlon ColorStay in "03 brown" has a valued spot in the everyday drawer for my brows and depending if my brows had recently been done professionally I apply one of two brow gels but they don't get used enough to stay in the drawer. There is always a mascara in the everyday drawer and for the past few month's I've been loving the Lancome Hypnose noir sample size, although I am due for a switch up soon. I also always keep a black liner pencil and a white one, the white one has stayed the same for a long time and it's the So Susan Highlighting pencil. The black pencil runs out more frequent but at the moment I have enjoyed using the Pop Beauty Kajal black pencil. I also like to keep a liquid liner on hand and the one I have been using recently is the MUA Precision liner. Lastly I always make sure to have an eyelash curler, my current one was a steal at only 1.50 from Penney's/Primark!

I also keep a headband that I wear to keep my make up out of my face and a pot of the Nougat London lip balm in the drawer. I also keep a double ended sharpener from MUA handy as it does normal sized and larger sized pencils. I always moisturize before I do my makeup but I like to keep it standing upright so it stays in the Alex drawers, if you are curious I use the Le Roche Posay Hydraphase moisturizer. I also use a primer most days before I do my make up but I choose on the day which one I want to use so they also stay in the drawer. I also tend to pick an eye shadow or palette on the day so they stay in their designated Alex drawer.

So that is an over view of what I keep in my everyday makeup drawer, I hope that gives you some insight into what products I use on my face everyday. What products do you guys keep as a must in your drawer/ make up bag?
