Best Celebrity Wedding Dresses

Best Celebrity Wedding Dresses

For this blog post I decided to pick my favourite celebrity wedding dresses. There really has been some amazing gowns worn in the past and here are the ones that I think are the best.

When Crown Princess Victoria got married she chose a gown by Par Engsheden. This dress was a cream coloured duchess silk satin. The rounded colour was turned down all the way around the gown with a v shape in the back. A cumber band  extenuated Princess Victoria's small waist, the skirt itself had a small train and for the ceremony itself a five metre train was added and it had a border detail. The train followed the shape of the veil which was the traditional Swedish veil and she wore her Cameo tiara which was also worn by her mother.

Another gown I love was Salma Hayeks gown. Her and her husband got married in secret in a low key ceremony on Valentines day but later had a big celebration where she wore this stunning Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquire with her hair swept back into a bun covered by her veil.

A wedding dress which I am absolutely obsessed with is Kate Middleton's gown when she married Prince William. Sarah Burton by Alexander McQueen created this stunning masterpiece, it's the perfect combination of modern and traditional. The main body of the dress was in ivory and white satin gazar, it had pleats that unfolded softly onto the ground.

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross had a little help choosing her gown as she had already worn it during a shoot for In Style. She wore this gorgeous Reem Acra strapless gown and a cathedral length veil. The bride also wore Neil Lane jewelry.

I adore this dress which Odette Yustman wore on her wedding day to Dave Annable. For the intimate ceremony Odette wore this stunning strapless Monique Lhuiller gown. This gown was A line and had a sweetheart neck with a chapel train.

Sophia Bush proved on her wedding day to Chad Micheal Murray she was just as fabulously fashionable as her alter ego Brooke Davis from the hit show One Tree Hill. Sophie walked down the aisle in this gorgeous strapless and simple Vera Wang gown in April 2005. The beautiful cinderella ball gown had a sweetheart neckline with a natural waist. This gown was so clean cut and amazing.

Zara Philips has been known for her less than conventional fashion sensebut for her wedding day she put aside her more outrageous style and changed into an elegant and sophisticated bride. Her dress was designed by the Queen's own couturier Stewart Parvin. For her big day she wore a full skirt gown with a row of  covered buttons and she wore a cathedral length veil with her mothers Greek key tiara to finish off her royal look. The gown was created in ivory duchess silk and softly ribbed faille and the corseted bodice ended in dramatic pleats on its dropped waist giving a dramatic bell shaped silhouette.

When the pop star Jessica Simpson married Nick Lachey she wore Vera Wang. The custom made strapless dress had a sweetheart neckline and was entirely covered in lace with a beaded design. She paired it with and eleven carat Harry Winston pave diamond headband which was attached to her veil.

After making a name for herself as a style icon Colleen Rooney's gown was a major talking point from day one of the engagement. With the help of designer Georgina Chapman at Marchesa Colleen came up with a custom made design. The incredible creation featured a silk organza bodice and a huge Cinderalla style skirt made of pleated organza fans.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie married actor Josh Duhamel in a stunning mermaid silhouette gown. She wore a custom made gown by Italian designers Dolce and Gabanna which had intricate detailing on the fitted bodice and a lightly flared skirt.

Ivanka Trump daughter of Donald Trump asked Vera Wang to create a Grace Kelly inspired classic gown but more updated for her September wedding to Jared Kushner. Her gown was made from different shades of white and the skirt was covered in three layers of lace. She wanted a romantic, regal but modern gown with lace sleeves and she reached her goal in this magnificent gown.

Julia Carey looked amazing when she married James Corden just eight months after giving birth to son Max in an elegant white gown made by Monique Lhuiller. The figure hugging dress nipped Julia in at the waist and boasted a form fitting basque. The long sleeved gown was covered in lace and also had a long train.

For her wedding Joanna Garcia an ivory and strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier. The dress was a drop waist cinderella ball gown, the veil was also by Monique Lhuillier and had a chapel train. The neckline was a sweetheart neckline which seems to be a real trend with celebrity wedding gowns.

When Kate Bosworth got married in August 2013 there was a lot of pressure for her to have the most amazing wedding dress as one of fashions most loved and well dressed celebrities. She showed off her custom made Oscar de la Renta gown to all her admiring guests as she walked down the aisle. Kate walked down the aisle in this dramatic Oscar de la Renta which was strapless and clean cut ivory ball gown.

We all know and love Sister Sister star Tamera Mowry, well when she got married she stunned in this beautiful Caroline Herrara gown. Tamera was one of the few celebrities who wasn't outrageous when it came to her gown, she insisted she didn't want to pay anywhere near ten thousand dollars and went for a somewhat affordable but still stylish gown.

When Tess Daly married Vernon Kay the two wore white. Tess Daly amazed guests in her Marina Adanou and she paired them with Jimmy Choo shoes.

Michelle Kwan wore Vera Wang for her wedding day her dress had dignity and class. It was an ivory strapless mermaid gown with layers of silk organza and featuring lace applique. The dress was quiet yet regal.

Tricia Nixon wowed in a lovely pearl and lace trimmed silk organdy design with a lower cut neckline that caused quite a stir with her mother. The gown was designed by Priscilla of Boston and her wedding was the first to ever take place in the White House Rose Garden.

Jacqueline Bouvier's wedding dress has been titled as one of the best and most iconic wedding gowns of all time. Ann Lowe created the bouffant wedding gown made from ivory silk taffeta. The neckline was off the shoulders portrait and there was mini wax flowers decorating the skirt. Her veil, was made of lace and had been previously worn by her grandmother. A tiara made of lace was decorated with orange blossoms, was used to tie the veil to her hair.

There you have it folks my all time favourite celebrity wedding gowns! Hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Xoxo

Sophie
